Earlier this week, I helped out building houses for Habitat for Humanity. This was the first time I assisted for this community service project. (And no it was not court appointed.) I fully enjoyed it and will definitely do it again next year when it comes around. This year actually involved 2 houses. I ended up cutting and building headers and door jams for the one. The whole system itself is a little chaotic and no one knows what to do for the first 2 hours. I got tired of standing around looking for instructions so I just started helping some old timers.
It was a nice warm day out and any day off from work is fine with me. I even got paid for it without losing a vacation or personal day.
